We’re excited to mark the first anniversary of our new website. We’ve aimed to design a site that is attractive, functional and easy to use.
In the last year we’ve seen a strong increase in visitation and engagement with our website and it even won 2 Australian Web Awards earlier this year! The first was for Drupal, the system powering our site. This award acknowledged the technical and performance architecture of our site. We also won Best in Show for our content layout and user-friendly design, simplifying information for visitors.
From day one, our aim has been to make our website accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities. Our website adheres to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, ensuring that people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments can still navigate and interact with our content with ease.
Readability drives our design approach. We ensure that our website presents information clearly and succinctly by using readable fonts, proper text sizing, and sufficient line spacing. Content is logically structured with headings and subheadings to guide the reader smoothly and intuitively.
We focus on making navigation easy so visitors can quickly find what they need. Our website’s responsive design also ensures it is usable on all devices, from desktops to smartphones.
While we celebrate this important achievement, we are far from complacent. Our dedication to ongoing improvement drives us to constantly find ways to maintain and improve accessibility, readability, and the user experience of our website. The past year has been a journey of learning and development, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunities that lie ahead.
User feedback has been crucial, helping us improve our features to better serve your needs. We welcome any additional comments you may have about our site.
