An Iranian-born man is set to appear before Perth Magistrates Court today, charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated conditions.
The AFP charged the man, 39, on Thursday after he was arrested in Perth.
It will be alleged that the man breached his Commonwealth visa’s conditions by failing to observe his residential curfew obligations on eight occasions.
The man has been charged with:
Eight counts of failing to comply with a curfew condition, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth). These offences carry a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and a $93,900 fine for each offence.
